Teaching

As an educator and a researcher in the field of information systems and computer science, I believe that it is my utmost responsibility to engage the students in an interactive manner in the classroom to make the learning topics interesting and engaging. My goal as an instructor is to assist my students in gaining hands-on experience regarding applying classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios and practicing their skills and knowledge in applied areas of computing systems. Specifically, I want to create an adaptive learning environment for students to embrace cutting-edge technology that matches real-life challenges and to make my students, the next-generation workforce, better able to serve the community as a whole. 

Teaching Training and Conference 

• Completed QM Rubric Update Sixth Edition (RU) in January 2019. 

• Completed the online course training on Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) in August 2017. 

• Completed the online course training on Independent Improving Your Online Course (IYOC): (Statewide Systems) in March 2018. 

• Participated in the QM Connect Annual Conference at Fort Worth, TX, in September 2017. 

• Accepted for the SEED Summer Workshop for Cybersecurity Education at Syracuse University, NY, in the summer of 2018 and summer of 2021. 

• Completed ACUE Effective Online Teaching Practices: Cohort A for the Fall 2021-Spring 2022 semesters. 

• Completed ACUE Fostering a Culture of Belonging: Cohort C for the Spring 2024 semester.

• Attended Writing Advocate Program (Sessions I and II, three hours total) as part of teaching development initiatives of the college. 

• Completed QM Rubric Update Role Reinstatement, Seventh Edition (RURR) in Fall 2024.

Teaching Awards

• Received the 2022 COBA Excellence in Teaching award for the 2022-2023 academic year. 

• Received the 2019 Scholarly Educator of COBA award at Texas A&M University-Central Texas. 

• Received the 2018 Education Innovation Award from College at Texas A&M University-Central Texas.
